Brooks Running

Centennial Event Identity + Branded Experience

Project Type
Role

Designer + Event Art Director

For Brooks Running’s 100th anniversary, I created the visual identity for Run to the Future, a centennial celebration that brought VIPs from across the global running community to Seattle. The event began with an employee 5K and culminated in a large invitation-only celebration in Ballard, with high-profile runner Nick Symmonds among the guests.

Brooks transformed the venue into an immersive branded environment, with panoramic screens showing slowly shifting running landscapes, high-profile DJs, multiple bars, and plenty of commemorative swag. Part race day, part birthday party, part time capsule, the celebration called for an identity worthy of a major moment in the company’s history. I carried the bright, playfully futuristic system across invitations, bibs, apparel, signage, and event touchpoints from the first announcement through the final celebration.

The Invitation

The invitation introduced the centennial identity and set the tone for a celebration much larger than the race itself. Guests traveled to Seattle from around the world for the invitation-only event, so the piece needed to feel energetic and playful while still carrying the significance of Brooks’ 100-year milestone.

Race-Day Identity

The employee 5K brought the centennial identity into motion. I carried the system across race bibs, participant shirts, signage, and course materials, using oversized typography, playful futuristic details, and Brooks’ unmistakable green to make every touchpoint feel connected.

The System in Motion

Once hundreds of runners put on the shirts and gathered at the starting line, the identity became part of the spectacle itself. The course filled with neon green, transforming a collection of individual pieces into one bright, energetic expression of Brooks’ centennial celebration.

Let's make something cool.
